[quote]WOW!!!!! We are still in the U13 forum right?????
For a minute here I forgot what is being discussed.....you know 12 & 13 year old girls playing soccer...
I don't think it is nice to call any girl on any team a RAT.
Remind me again.... who is the child?????
I have seen most of these U13 girls show way more class than you!!!/quote]

Wow, every rat squuuiikkksss when you step on its tail....

Well, I never called any girl a rat, it was just figure of speech...
Usually it isn't the girls who make decision to move, it is the parents that don't like to be left behind. So, they start jumping the ships, making sure they make it to the Mighty OYSL, leaving their daughter's friends behind, not caring if she is still having fun... :(
It is by the second month of the season they start making the noises, and excuses, and reasons to go. And the reasons could be anything, from: "my daughter has better left big toe punt then so and so", to: " my daughter has short hair and as such she is faster then so and so who's long and bushy ponytail is holding her back by creating to much wind resistance". Yup, I heard them all. :o :pukeleft: :pukeright:
And now, being the last week of "the Trading deadline", I was merely asking if there was any movements of players, and trust me, it is a given that there is/was some... And, just wait and see the end of the season run...Trying to get on three different teams at the same time... :colors: It is not easy. I was always amazed by some people's creative scheduling... If you don't believe me just look at last years Mississauga team that missed the OYSL by point or two.

If anyone was offended by "the Rat" thing , I'm really sorry. I hope that any girl that is reading this has some sense of humor and... is not as jumpy as a rat when you step on its tail...
Let girls play and have fun.

Cheers

Well I buy that, as I found the first post as you described.... A figure of speech. Looks like the srsl like the cgsl will be a rats nest at the end of the year. In this division I would not count any of the 6 teams out of the race. As parents let's get a grip, if your kid is good and the oysl is the goal then get on a team next year. If training and fun is good where you are then stay. Keep them playing at 16 and beyond. And that's an accomplishment!!
Just remember... The ball is round after all and good things happen when you are 1st to the ball!!

I am not quite sure of this "rat" analogy that you seem to favour using....
If you wanted to discuss the upcoming trades that you felt were impending...why didn't you just say that...???

I really didn't find your analogies funny, so I voiced an opinion - which I am entitled to do ... and it wasn't because we were in that select group who were considering trading to another team before the deadline .... so my tail was not stepped on.....

The season will be over before we know it - give or take a few more games ..... so play the cards you were dealt and wait for the next round.......

I don't know why eveeryone keeps calling it a trade? The losing team loses a player they obviously wanted on their roster (although they may spitefully say the girl wasnt needed merely to save face like a scorned lover) and get nothing in return.

I get the sinking ship and rat analogy, but I disagree with it. Players sign no contract and are allowed to leave if they don't feel appreciated for their talents. Teams that regularly lose players can learn something from the departures. It's that easy. Girls shouldn't skip around to eight different teams, but a change or two is quite understandable.

Play where you are appreciated.
Play where you have fun.
Play wehre the coaches are best trained.
Play where you will win.
Play where you will get to play in the OYSL.
Play where the provincial coaches may one day notice you (if you aren't already on the regional rosters)...if that is your goal (they don't go down and watch lower level games ever).
Play where the teams puts reasonable demands on the athletes and supports them in their life goals.
Play where it is convenient (dirty secret is that for many the OYSL demands LESS driving because for the west division many of the teams are close together, with just one team to visit once all summer on the outskirts). Lower divisions tend to drive to Bolton or Niagara or the like on any given weeknight.

Select your team based on all or almost all of the above and then play hard and enjoy!

I'd add that it doesn't sound like any girls are moving around this week. At least not seeing how quiet the forum is!

SRSL 2nd Division..."spirit of fair play" in an effort to teach our young players the spirit of fair play, ie: kick the ball out when an opposing teams player is injured (player later spent 5 hours in emergency room), and then go on to score a goal.....it is sad to see that other teams namely: Brams Challengers, do not believe in the same virtues of this great game of ours. It is truly sad that a coach who has clearly taught his players how to dive and flop around like fish outta water when an opposing player comes near them, cannot see the light.....as it goes, soccer karma will come back to haunt teams like this... it may not be today but it will be in the near future.

There was one big move coming out of the regional camp last week, but it didn't involve Erin Mills so I will let one of the parties involved announce it.

When is the league ever going to credit NM with their two "abandoned" 1-0 wins vs SC and Miss? Those two games swing the standings quite a bit (put NM in 5th and right behind 4th place OSC).

Are they waiting for some hearing or something like that?

Is there any possibility, the SRSL may do something other then just reward the 6 points to N.M.? They really didn't earn them did they?

Looks like there is an SRSL hearing for SC on Aug 6, with the subject "SRSL Rule 19" (abondoned games) - so assume this will resolve at least one of the two games - did not see anything about the Miss game in the disciplinary docket. With the SRSL you never know - they can have the game(s) replayed if both sides found to be at fault, alot depends on the referees report.

NIce try Greatgame - I know OSC (5th place) would love it if NM (4th place) were ordered to win those two games again, but NM was winning both games 1-0 at the time the opposing coaches were thrown out and the games abandoned.

Since you were one of the teams, I am reading between the lines and read that you feel it was justified to take a loss on the 3 points? and NM were in no way involved?

What happened in Mississauga on that day? Did you coach get thrown out for good cause?

After NM's two abandoned game wins over SC and Miss (1-0) are calculated, the standings look like this:

Burlington Flames 8 GP 17 pts
Erin Mills A 8 GP 16 pts
Brams Utd - Bandits 7 GP 15 pts
Oakville A 10 GP 15 pts
North Miss. A 7 GP 12 pts
Mississauga 9 GP 9 pts
Stoney Creek 10 GP 6 pts
Bolton A 7 GP 4 pts

So really Brams is in first and NM is 4th if you look at games played.

Three way race for first will be verrrrrry tight:
Brams has a game against everyone left, except two Bolton games and no OSC games. EM has a game against everyone except Burlington left. Burlington has a game against everyone except EM left.

OSC will fight it out vs NM for the last OYSL spot:
OSC has four games left, BUT 3 of the 4 games are against the top 3 teams (Burlington, EM and Brams) with one against SC. NM has 7 full games to play and is only one win back.

I just know what the score was and that what the ref called cannot be undone now, no matter what I feel.
