np8, you might want to start a AISL thread to get the questions your looking for. I think a 4-2 score is a good indicator who carried the play in that game, it was not like a 1-0 or nil draw where you can't tell who dictated the game. As we go off the OISL topic now, the Glen Shields team has a new coach from the Woodbridge 97 team and has brought along a few of those players errrr I should say followed him to Glen Shields so I'm sure that team is meshing together and will get stronger as the season goes on. The score of that game should not be suprising as Aurora is a top ranked 98 team and Glen Shields 97's might be ranked around 15-20 in their age group. The only suprise might be Aurora conceded 2 goals against them.

I watched the GS game vs Aurora 98 A team. The Aurora team put 4 by GS in less than 20 mins unbelievable team!
the rest of the teams Markham 97, Richmond Hill 97, Vixens 97, Oshawa 97 seem to be of the same caliber as each other while GS are probaly the 2nd best team followed by Bradford 98.

So does the Aurora '98 team have a legitimate chance at winning the league?

Hi 3Lions - the AISL has 8 teams, so "the league" is only 7 games long. The teams are then separated into top 4 and bottom 4 and they play a round-robin within their grouping. Then there is a one game "final". 3 games into the season I think it is fair to say that Aurora 98 is the heavy favourite to win both the league and the playoff. The only real question in my mind is whether Bradford 98 or Glen Shields 97 will take second. Since the Bradford / GS game is tomorrow afternoon, this question could be answered quickly.

Aurora A team got by Vaughan 1-0 Aurora B team lost3-0 to Oshawa Turul and GS beat Bradford 2-0 I am not sure of the result between RHill vs Markham. I watched the three games sunday> Aurora A looked tired or better yet overconfident while Vaughan looked strong and not intimidated> Oshawa looked faster and stronger than Aurora B but Aurora had flashes good passing and looked much stronger than a regular B team, they are playing 1 year up as a B team but it does not show. the final game of the day was a little sloppy by both teams, GS were the better team but once again the Bradford team playing 1 year up were solid vs. a L3 team the final score was 2-0 ( I didn't see the last 15 mins of the final game, but was told the final was 2-0)> Does anybody know the score between RHill and Markham on Sat morning ?

After a 2 week hiatus, the OISL starts up again today. A rematch of Bolton v Woodbridge this afternoon, and Sudbury comes to town for 3 games against Toronto Eagles, Vaughan and Stoney Creek. Just for fun, I will make a couple of underdog predictions ... both Woodbridge and Sudbury will get a point this weekend. Go make it happen datdude, and report back!

Saturday OISL Action:

Bolton 2 - Woodbridge 98's 0

2 first half goals was the difference in the game. For most part and evenly matched game I believe outside a couple of defensive breakdowns by Woodbridge. Bolton plays a very disiplined and sound defensive game that will give any 97 team trouble. Difficult match up for Woodbridge size wise I believe as Bolton may be one of the bigger 97 teams out there and Woodbridge may be one of the smaller 98 teams.

Always fun to pick the underdog. Alas, with the Woodbridge loss to Bolton and Sudbury's loss to the Eagles, my predictions lie in tatters. Though Sudbury has another shot tomorrow, they will be hard pressed to take a point from Vaughan and Stoney Creek will be hungry for their first OISL win. It was fun while it lasted.

Any game report chelseaboy? 3-0 sounds pretty convincing for the Eagles.

The fun is over. Sudbury lost to Vaughan (6-0) and Stoney Creek (4-0) on Sunday. My underdog predictions officially stunk.

Something seems a little odd about the lop-sided Sudbury losses. When they came down a month ago they played three games, came away with a point, and were outscored 10-4. This trip they came away with nothing and were outscored 13-0. The competition was not all that different each trip. I imagine it is difficult to get a full team to make the trip each time, so perhaps the roster has been flexible. I was just expecting that their results would improve as they practice and adjust to the level of competition.

Regardless, I am impressed with the dedication those girls and parents have to travel to the "big smoke" once a month to get competition. I can't help but think they would be better off in CGSL Level 4, as this weekend was in fact quite indicative of the teams they will face in CGSL Level 3 this summer.

AISL results: watched GShields beat up the Vixens 4-0 game was played in the Vixens end most of the game. Also was able to see RHill edge out Aurora B 1-0 game was really good for Aurora B they seemed to be the better team on the field but lacked the scoring touch , once again they are a younger team but watching them the last couple of weeks you can really see the improvement. And finally the game of the day was Aurora A vs Bradford what an entertaining game to watch game ended 3-2 for Aurora, but Aurora were pressed ! they scored what seemed to be Keeper error on their first goal (ugly goal) , then Bradford replied with a nice goal 1-1, then Aurora played a non threating ball into the box and the Bradford played the ball off her upper arm --(questionable penalty shot call) score 2-1 then Bradford fought back and tied it up on a penalty shot of there own score 2-2 ( the orginal shot on net seemed to have gone in but ref saw it differently and a hand ball ensued and Bradford was awarded a penalty shot)
with little time left maybe 3-4 min Aurora finally got a the winner 3-2 Aurora. Good game by both teams. The 98's look good up in the AISL.

The same must be said about Stoney Creek. 1 win in 8 games suggests that the drive home to the Hammer is a long one. Their dedication is also admirable.

I don't think Stoney Creek's record reflects how well their playing in the league. In 8 games their only -4 in goal differential. Outside of a 3-0 lose to Vaughan they have been losing most their games by one goal. They could easily end up in 3rd place by the time the league is over. By contrast Sudbury is -27 in goal differential and will be hard pressed to see any victories in the OISL or CGSL L3 this season.

Point taken, but you still have to give those kids credit. To drive all that way and lose week after week takes a toll.
Never the less their spirit remains high and should be commended.

Toronto Eagles 2 - 2 Bolton

Toronto dominated the first 40 minutes, putting in two unanswered goals. Bolton came back and got back two quick ones. The game was called early, a halftime fire alarm seemed to throw the officials into a state of confusion.
Congrats to all girls.
