Greetings. I'm a new forum user. I have been amused for years by the contributions of this group and thought it was time to jump in and join you. There hasn't been much representation from London recently so I thought I might be able to fill that gap with reports on games.
London was frustrated this weekend on their ability to convert on excellent scoring opportunities. In terms of possesion and chances to score there was a significant advantage over Oakville B and Unionville.
The Windsor game was much closer and the challenges for the ball where hard.
London is pleased to be moving on!

Surprising results when Woodbride faced NYH on Sunday. 3-3.
Also impressive play when Woodbridge faced Waterloo. Without that penalty shot and the cheep goal woodbridge could have done some damage.

Wrong pick Chid.

Pickering over Burlington 2-0-Pickering definately deserved the win as Burlingtton never put any pressure on them. Most of the game was played on the Burlington end with the Burlington keeper making a few good saves. Overall the game was very slowpaced and boring.

London wins over Newmarket 4-1 which should have been 4-0 but Newmarket got lucky with a goal that was clearly offside. London was definately the better team today as they completely out played them. London keeper never really had any pressure on her but did make one good save. London scored two beautiful goals on a free kick into the left corner of the newmarket net. Newmarket was no match for London. It was in very poor taste for Newmarket to come to the semi's with a shirt that said "going for 4". I guess they never expected the '4' to be the final score for the other team. I was also disappointed in the Newmarket parents at all the comments they were shouting at the ref. The ref made some bad calls on both sides but overall well ref'd. Newmarket needs to accept that they were outplayed today and lost to the better team.

Good luck to Pickering and London in the finals they definately earned it.

Well that explains why there wasn't a prompt response from our fellow Newmarket reporter.
I guess when London saw those Laser jerseys paraded at the quarterfinals against Brams, they took it as a challenge and brought their A game today.

No I just finished dinner and switched on the computer.

I thought we were well beaten today, we have lost games in the past but we are rarely beaten. Today we were well beaten. There was a deceptively strong wind blowing today and London used it to good advantage in the first. They got onto through balls with alarming frequency and Newmarket continually had trouble judging the flight of the ball.

Had it stayed 2-1 into the break the nature of the game may have been different but who could deny the quality of the third London goal. When players strike a dead ball like that you just stand back and applaude. The fact that goal number four was a similarly struck dead ball is all the more impressive.

So Newmarket for a change is unable to lift their game as required and losses to a superior team on the day. London played a perfect game physical aggressive and converted thier opportunities.

Though his decisions in no way impacted the game I thought the ref was god awful. I don't think he favoured one team or another he was fair, equally bad to both teams. Of course when you are not playing well and things are not goin your way you notice it a little more.

As for the shirts. I guess taste is in the mouth of the beholder. When the last Ontario Cup game you lost was in the semi finals at U12 and you have won three in a row and are going for something I do not believe has ever been done, going for four in a row you have earned the right to draw attention to you achievement.

Congrats to London that they weren't intimidated some teams would have been.
