I'm thinking it will go right down to the last couple of games and is going to be a very exciting finish.

I'm actually fairly surprised both both.

I'm not privy to who went where in Niagara but some of the L4 results for their club really surprised me. From champs to, well, let's not go there but based on their strength last year even if they lost a few players to the L3 side, the results have been disapointing I would think. Would think they will still factor into the promotion race. What a start by Georgetown who I wasn't expecting much from this year. My apologies.

And Oakville with three positive results against three returning L3 teams looks good on them. Not convinced yet that they'll keep it up. Still feel that it will come down to Brantford and Niagara. My wild card would go to Lincoln, another well put together team that has yet to lose this year I believe.

Does anyone have any idea what happened in L3 in the second half of the week? SRSL website gives no indication of the below games being cancelled, played or otherwise. Inquiring minds want to know.

6813 Niagara United Girls A Dixie Athletic 94s Tue, Jun 15 21:00 HFGS 5
6809 Brams Utd A - Twisters Lincoln Wed, Jun 16 21:00 Avondale Stadium
6815 Erin Mills B Oakville B Wed, Jun 16 21:00 South Common

Thanks for the update lolfut. I'll assume the game at Avondale was as well since Brampton usually shuts down their pitches at the drop of a few drops.

Wonder if Dixie got another game moved this year due to swine flu?

I have a question to all of the knowledgeable out there. If someone is chirping the keeper from behind the net and the keeper asks the ref to deal with it, is the ref supposed to deal with it or just let it go? Our girls (collectively) do not need to deal with that kind of stuff! And when a ref completely ignores a players request regarding an off the pitch (no pun) issue, this does not endear the players nor the parents to the refs cause. Unless the ref does not need to do anything then I stand corrected. Which leaves it up to the parents to deal with......not always the best idea from my view point.

You may want to try your question in the Coaches, Players and Referees forum.

There is a What's the Call Ref? topic there.

Here's a link directly to that topic:

I've seen officials ask for parents, fans and if you can believe, even coaches, moved from there over the many years I've been going to games, but I cannot say they were 100% in their right to do so. The only time I've seen that in recent years has been teenaged friends of players thinking they are funny, and after complaints from the coaches and parents, those "fans" have been asked to stop by the official, although in the case I am thinking back to didn't happen behind the goal.

Sorry to hear your teams keeper had to go through that loudmouth, it's never a nice situation to have to deal with. I am guessing this happened in an SRSL game last night? What game was this in?

While the ref is supposed to have control over the pitch area as soon as he arrives at the field, and should ask the pests to move, he only has control over the players and team officials. So he should get both coaches together and have them try to identify whose team these spectators are associated with then have them deal with it. If they do not belong to any team then man management skills come into play and the ref should try to get them to cooperate.

Any game report? Looks like a tight battle at the top between Brantford, Lincoln and Oakville. Third or fourth year in a row that the race at the top looks like it will come down right to the wire. Has made for some great soccer. I think I picked Brantford to win promotion before the season started so will stick with them.
