Any game report? Looks like a tight battle at the top between Brantford, Lincoln and Oakville. Third or fourth year in a row that the race at the top looks like it will come down right to the wire. Has made for some great soccer. I think I picked Brantford to win promotion before the season started so will stick with them.

Was a great game.
I have seen the Brantford team play several times this year and this was definately their best outing. They just came back from Ont Cup over the weekend playing Burlington/Oakville so perhaps that taste of OY teams gave them some incentive.
Oakville also showed very well. For a 15-20 minute stretch in the second half the ball was in the Brantford end but they just couldn't put it away. The last 10 minutes saw the tide turn and the Oakville keeper had to stretch fully to her left to save the match for her teammates.
Clean game, spectators into it, warm night, what else is there?

I guess nil-nil games can be exciting huh? Thanks for the report. Noticed Lincoln shutout Niagara Falls yesterday as well. What has happened in Niagara this year? Came pretty close to going all the way last year and have already dropped four, straight in fact, a year later. Know there was a bit of change with the team but so far it's been quite the drop off in the standings.

Last 2 games Brantford have won 4-0 and 3-0 in order. Great job LADIES! What a classy bunch. They are becoming well rounded.
This last game against Brams was intense. Brams has a lot of skill. Wow! They passed the ball well, very well but came up against a wall of Phantoms they couldn't penetrate successfully.

Let me talk about a Ref who was the star of the game. I do not want you to think I am only saying anything because we won and most of the calls went our way because I believe I can be the hardest on our own girls, yet I am a parent who could be biased in the eyes of others.

This Ref was amazing (sorry Brams), he really cared about the game and its integrity in the community of sport. It was like he could read the minds of many who lived vicariously through our tv's and computer screens during the World Cup. Why can't these professionals play and act like professionals? Why did Robben have to flop around so much, or at all for that matter? What about the guy from Ivory Coast who faked the ref with Kaka? I was cheering for Ivory Coast....go Drogba.
So in this game, It was not like above but the Ref caught all of the little extras. When a shoulder to shoulder became a hip check, 1 step before the ball. It went both ways. Aggressive is great but the little extra aggressive was caught every time. The flow of the game was left up to players ability to reel it in.

So, hats off to this Ref, whoever you are. May the Sport see many more like you. (This is a thro'down to the reffing culture to level up .... If you didn't get it the first time)

With all that said, I have to say I am very PROUD of Brantford for their composure on the field because I know there are many strong personalities.

Cheers Ladies,
LM
P.S. Last years blog was much more interesting. Was it all the Mississauga crew doing all of the talking. (Yes.....that was another thro'down......let's chew some fat) :pirate:

Looks like L3 was probably decided last night between Lincoln and Brantford. Any reports? Pulling for the BICS.

Way to go Lincoln, I for one thought this will be the year for Brantford, still a little bit left with both teams having three games left it might still come down to the wire ? Anyone know the L-3 League Cup Semi's went? They can meet up for the league cup finals also!

Brantford had a rough 24 hrs, playing 3 very tough games, losing in Brantford tournament finals in sudden death to St kitts jets U15 OY team, then playing a league cup semi that night then the big game Monday night...maybe no gas left in the tank and the reason for their 2nd half collapse to Lincoln

Hey,

Does anyone have any updates on the U16 Premier Girls Division?

I have been told it can be broken down into three categories.... Group 1...Brampton and Georgetown are pretty much neck and neck...followed by Group 2 North Miss, Ancaster, Milton and Burlington...followed by Group 3...Niagra and Welland.

Not my assessment...just what I have been told.

Georgetown 4 Ancaster 0

Georgetown takes first place in the GU16 Premier having players that had 100% respect and faith in a great coaching staff. CONGRATS MUSTANGS!
