Erin Mills wins 5-2 against cataraqui

It is going to be a close one between Brams and Erin Mills for the seond relegation spot in the West. However Brams has the advanatage as they can borrow players from their younger skilled team (Rebels) as they always do to get those extra wins towards the end.

In the East it will between Ajax and the Hornets for the second relegation spot.

Both of these teams will have to work extra hard in the next few months to earn those wins.

It looks like it will be an easy win in the East for Pickering with Newmarket lagging behind. In the West it's too tough to call right now as it is a close race between Oakville, North London and Burlington. I guess we will have to wait and see how Burlington matches up against North London as they are the only team in the West that hasn't played them yet.

No disrespect to Pickering, as they have obviously hit their stride this year, but I don't know that I would count Newmarket out of the running just yet. True, as it stands right now, Lasers are 13 points behind, but they also have 4 games at hand.

Again, no disrespect, but Newmarket also have games to play against Cat, Mississauga & Ajax, which on paper should all be 3 points for the Lasers. It may boil down to some exciting soccer with the head to head matches against Pickering.

I wouldn't count Newmarket out of the running for first spot this season either . I don't think Pickering has had any success in terms of wins when these two clubs clash .
Now that Newmarket has the sour taste of defeat in their mouths , it will be hard for any club to snag a victory at the expense of the Newmarket United .

Any talk of awarding titles at this stage of the season is just silly. We can all agree that Pickering has hit the ground running and seem to be playing well, but there is lots of soccer to be played this season and all of the top teams are capable of taking points off one another.

In a hot one today Newmarket 5-1 Gloucester.

Boy it was hot! Newmarket settled first and opened the scoring after about 10 minutes, they added a second on a Frank Lampard that the linesman didn't miss and looked quite comfortable at 2 goals to the good. The game effectively ceased as a contest when a Gloucester player received a straight red toward the end of the first half.

Back to back games in the heat with 10 players you could forgive Gloucester for throwing in the towel, but the came out strong in the second and were rewarded with a penalty which was nicely converted. Newmarket in a cruel response added a third goal not two minutes after that, and then a couple more before the end to make the final score line 5-1.

Dudley and friends, I must admit that your description of our game was very fair. Where Pickering has hit the road running, we have been decimated by one injury after another. To paraphrase an old friend we're starting to look like a M.A.S.H. unit with no relief in sight.

On a positive note we are finally getting back our main goalie who we lost early in the season. Someone has stepped into our hornets nest and scrambled things up abit. Hopefully things will settle down before our pilgrimage to the San Diego - Surf Cup end of month.

Good luck on your trip south, hopefully a few more healthy bodies will be able to participate. As we get a little older we realize that youth soccer is but a blip on the journey of life, but to these players it is such an important time and to miss a major chunk of, or heaven forbid an entire season is devastating to these players who make such a commitment to the sport only to have a once in a lifetime expereince cruelly snatched away.

A trip to San Diego, to play soccer, lets face it it doesn't get much better than that does it. Good luck to the girls and remember enjoy the experience trips like this don't come along very often.

This was not "The Beautiful Game". Both teams looked tired after their Ontario Cup weekend. Very little flow in the first half. Not many passes strung together and the long balls were often to no one. London did manage to score a goal from within the box before the half.
The second half was a tough grind with Erin Mills looking more determined to win the hard challenges. Erin Mills defence looked strong and the team in my eyes probably deserved a tie for their effort.

EM deserved at least a tie from last night's performance. They were easily the better team in the second half as London seemed to completely run out of gas and held on for the win.

Hopefully the girl who got injured late in the game was not serious as I enjoy the way she plays. Get better soon.

Thank you Dudley. You are so bang on when you talk about the Life Events. I was blessed with having not one but four Life Events as a teenager playing soccer for a very good soccer program. They were experiences that I not only remember forever but cherish because of the friendships and I you developed. Back when I went through this the mode of communications between newly formed friendships was the Pony Express and mail, not emailing, texting or BBMing. Our ladies are very lucky. Alot of hard work has gone into this event and we trust that it will be a positive experience for all, as San Diego is a very nice place to visit.

Another loss last night for Mississauga as they struggle to try and get some momentum going in the OYSL.

Brams win last night puts them ahead of EM in their battle to avoid relegation.

By the way why is the TD from Mississauga coaching this team? What happened to the regular coach?

Where are the reports from the Newmarket vs London Game? I am assuming it was played on the small field in Newmarket which would have been difficult for the talented London team to perform on.

I am sure the outcome will be much differant on a large field when London meets up with Newmarket in the semi finals of Ont Cup (sorry Brams I am predicting a loss for you this weekend).

Hi SP, by the small field I assume you mean Bonshaw, the game was played at Richardson which is an average sized field. I was not at the game so I cannot offer a game report and Dudley is on holidays so don't expect a report from him. Maybe someone that was at the game can offer up a report. All I heard was it was a competitive game and either team could have won, NM had 1 yellow and the NL goalie took a red with a few minutes left in the game, don't have any more specifics besides that.
