It was long, wasn't it? (I'm not trying to be sarcastic, I really mean it, it was a long post).

Tuesday 2 of the top 3 U14 teams played each other. I am amazed that no one has offered up a game report so far. Come on people a little less reading and more typing. Thank you... :brilsmurf:

All right True aim, I will try and give you a brief summary of the GS vs Brams game. It was a 1-1 draw, with GS carrying and having the most scoring chances in the 1st half. GS opened the scoring on a srtong play by their number 1 striker. They had many other chances, but where unable to mark anther goal. Brams scored very very late in the 1st half to even the score. 2nd half I thought brams pretty much carried the play, and had more scoring chances than GS. Alas, entertaining game to watch, with alot of skill and tact on the pitch for both sides.

Congratulation to Tecumseh this weekend. They went on the road and took six points in two days against the teams they had to beat, Clarkson and Oakville. Those 6 points, given the packs inability to register victories, will go a long way towards avoiding relegation at the end of the season. Well done.

Is Tecumseh able to play in the O next year? And if they can't does the 5th or 6th place (Oakville), (Clarkson) get that spot or does Eastside fill the spot. Can anyone answer these questions...

If Techumseh doesn't get relegated (and my prediction is that they won't) then they can play in the OYSL. As to what the powers that be at the OYSL decide regarding team placement and vacant spots in the league is anyone's guess - they seem to be able to "interpret" rules (read: make them up as they go along) so trying to figure out what would happen in any one particular situation is pretty much useless.

ECSA website states the only teams playing in L1 or L3 in 2011 would be the district team Eastside(girls) and FC Nationals (boys)

WAY TO GO GIRLS FOR COMING HOME WITH THE GOLD! YOU PLAYED WELL. I am sure all the teams with these players will be happy to have them back home.

Did anyone happen to see the Pickering Vs Glen Shields...I have been waiting for someone to comment on the game but no one has so I decided I would say something. In my opinion it was another example of a poorly ref'd game. Now my kid does not play for either team, but we went to check out the game and well we got a real show from the ref's. Pickering came out with 11 players and Glen Shields had 14 ( 11 players and 3 refs).
Pickering opened up scoring early with a goal in the first minute, followed quickly by a counter attack by Glen Shields. The Pickering goalie clearly punched away the shot on net however the player was awarded a penalty kid for what the ref said was a push for the Pickering keeper.
In the 2nd half Pickering made it 2-1 and after that it was bad call after bad call all going Glen Shields way. Glen Shields tied the game and then won the game on a clearly off side goal which was allowed. Can't wait to see what happens when we play Glen Shields on their home turf as it looks like its protected territory !!

A quick look at the "Big Picture" shows otherwise: Glen Shields has suffered it's only loss and only tie thus far, on home territory. The reality is: Pickering came out strong and played a very good game. And GS gave a shining example of what can be done as far as making a come back. The girls on both sides worked very hard for this close result.
